The House Detective is a service for homeowners of all kinds but especially those with a historic home. It is a labor of love to attempt to chase down the history of your home in the court houses.
The House Detective does an in depth title search on your home taking it back to its earliest owners. Once the search is complete you will have copies of all available deeds on your home and a written history of the deed search and Prominent Families that lived in your home. You will then have the opportunity to purchase a historic house sign with the appropriate name and date your home was built. Many owners choose to put their name and then a dash and then the original owner’s name. However it can be arranged any way you like. The signs can also be purchased without purchasing the history. The cost of the sign without research but with the lettering of your choice is $125. Research is $15 per hour with a cap of $350 because if I can’t find it in 23 hours of research the rest is on me.
